Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy for inexperienced family to set up, created great interest My granddaughter (age 35) & her husband set up the scope for their daughters at their home in Visalia CA. They (no experience with telescopes) were able to do it, get the girls to look & develop a great interest in the stars, night sky, etc.--for the parents too!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Beginners Telescope This is an adequate telescope if you are looking to look at large objects in the night sky. It's a little twitchy, so trying to lock in on smaller or fainter objects, is a little trying. You think you found the object, and when you go to focus or zoom in on it, a slight touch can send it out of the view finder. I thought practicing on daylight objects would help in finding the night objects, but sadly, no. My lazer pointer didn't work with my original telescope, and Mindware replaced it willingly, but the 2nd one only worked twice. I am new to the sky viewing, and would hoped this would be a good starter, but I think I will opt to upgrade.
