i bought this item for my grandson for xmas. apparently , he has had one before ,but loved getting another. any child interested in dinos should be given one of these for a birthday or other celebration holiday. it is a lot of fun for them.

Awesome Educational Experience for Kids
This was a huge hit with my 5 year old grandson. He was obsessed with digging out the skeletons and identifying them. There was a learning sheet that came with it that named of all the dinosaurs and the info about. He was very interested in finding out if they were meat or plant eaters. He ended up spending the whole day doing this and finished 11 out of 12 of the Dino eggs. He even said that is was way more fun that watching TV. A major victory! It is very messy tho, so prepare for that

SOME LIKE IT; SOME DON'T
I bought several sets for my grandchildren in Florida and several sets for my great-grandchildren in Virginia. The mom of the Florida kids said it was a HUGE hit. They didn't mind the mess because they are always doing crafts. The mom in Virginia said it made the worst mess she had ever seen and wouldn't let the kids open all the eggs. I think the kids liked it , but they didn't play the proper way. The threw them on concrete to get them open because they felt it took too long to open.

I purchased these two dig it up kits for my grandsons, ages 3+ and almost 7 years. Super fun project!
I purchased these 6 years ago for my 2 grandchildren ages 2 & 6 . They absolutely loved the element of surpise as they worked carefully with a tool to discover the hidden treasure. They patiently chiseled away until the dinosaur was revealed. We did it outside on a warm sunny day, with Great Grandma helping as well. We were all engaged and loved the activity!
