Expect duplicates
Our girls got these for their birthdays, one a cat set, the other puppies. Neither set had all 12 unique pets in them, as the packaging and item description indicate. After some back and forth, Mindware sent a new set of each, and even then they barely got one of each of the 12. They do have fun digging them up though!

Wrong age group for this
Good product, but definitely not for kids 4+ .. more like 7-8 maybe; my 6 yro niece had a hard time chiseling the yarn balls/ lost interest in it pretty quick so I had to get them out, and they were not ready to chisel in 3 minutes- more like almost 3 hours soaking in water. Lastly, there was a duplicate Siamese cat in our box. We’re missing Russian Blue.
This is a nice idea, great packaging, but poorly executed in terms of skill/age level. A little hammer to help chisel is recommended.

A Fun Idea for Cat Lovers!
My 9 year old granddaughter loves anything to do with cats! I bought her the Dig It Up! Discoveries: Cats for Christmas. She had a blast opening up each yarn ball to see what cat treasure was inside. After cleaning them up, she displayed each one in her room for everyone to enjoy. This is a fun idea for any cat lover!

Fun time!
Both kids had a lot of fun digging up their cats. It was a bit difficult for one of them but she was interested enough to continue. They were very excited to see which cat they got and enjoyed using the pamphlet to identify and read about them. There weren't any cat repeats.The balls of yarn looked pretty good. I would've given it five stars if some of the cats didn't have dents on their faces or necks. It looked like some of them got hit with a pan. Other than that almost perfect experience.

Makes a mess
Very, very messy. Bought as Christmas gift for granddaughter and for niece’s daughter. Niece looked at it and said outside toy. My granddaughter did one here and it was very, very messy. Too cold to do outside. She lives in an apartment so, toy was left here to do when she visits. Both these girls love cats, which is why I thought they’d love it, but honestly, it’s creative but a very messy toy.

Does the child need a lot of adult supervision. That doesn’t work for me.
Ever since my brother told me about Mindware, I have ordered several items for my granddaughter. I especially like the interactive science kits and art projects. Everything has been as advertised and they are always age appropriate. I really don’t look anywhere else anymore.
