This type of activity made quite a mess! The grandgirls were excited at first to "dig" for their fairies, but after the required soak & picking, soggy pieces & crumbs of the encasement were all over. The youngest (5yrs) lost interest, the oldest stuck it out until hers was revealed. Their mom packed up the kit to take home w them. Amusingly, there were tell-tale blue fragments in the driveway.

The recommended soaking time was not nearly enough. I ended up soaking the egg each time 3 to 4 hours-- my granddaughter still needed help. The clay was hard as a rock. On the plus side, she does enjoy playing with the fairies.

Our 4 year old granddaughter had so much fun digging out her fairies! It took time ( which was nice sometimes u buy something and less that 5 minutes your done ) and they have 12 eggs . If you soak them for 10 minutes they easily break . We set her up with a big box that was easier for her to dig ( kept everything inside box) entertained her all weekend and she still has 6 to go .Great gift !!
