Total mess
This item was impossible for a child with the tools provided. It required a real hammer to make any sort of progress and resulted in frustration for my daughter and an incredible mess.

Very messy and not as advertised!
VERY messy (should be outdoors only), slow, & inadequate instructions & warnings: 1) should be for kids 7 up ol; 2) does NOT say if clay that embeds charms is non-toxic, water soluble, or whether it can safely go down the drain; 3) says to use newspaper or paper towels, but if done inside one should use many layers since paper towels get wet; recommend using plastic instead; 4) clay needs to be soaked repeatedly and for MUCH longer than the advertised 5 minutes. Disappointing!

This is NOT as it is advertised. It was virtually impossible to make a 'dig' following the instructions that were included. We had to keep re-soaking the item to make it somewhat diggable. We finally took out a hammer and used that to break it open. It was unfortunate because my granddaughter was hoping to dig thru this to uncover the charms. That didn't happen. The only fun part for her was putting together the bracelet. We could have bought a kit for that. Overpriced and not worth it.

Not meant for littles
If you and your child have the patience of saints, Herculean strength, and a real chisel then this is the project for you! I got this for my 5 year old daughter and it took me took far too long and she could not do this on her own. The charms are great and making the bracelet was awesome, but removing the charms was way too hard and challenging for this age.

Fun messy activity!
My 4 year old loved banging and digging, needed a little help from her big brother to get it started. I bought this for Xmas since we were traveling to FL and needed something that she could do that wouldnt take up room on the plane back. It gets messy so it was perfect to do outside!
