Stick to the smaller eggs, this is impossible
I was very excited to order this for my little guy because he LOVED the smaller eggs so much. I figured this would be a fun weekend project for Valentine's Day. Boy was I wrong. We soaked this thing for hours and still needed a hammer to break the dinosaurs out. It does not soften nearly as well as the smaller eggs. We did like the larger dinosaurs it contained but we will be sticking to the smaller eggs going forward. He didn't get to have any fun with this.

Outdoor messy fun
The 4 yr old and 7 yr old both had a difficult time chipping away at the clay, even after soaking it in water. This is extremely messy, too. They did enjoy finding the Dino’s hidden within the egg but it took a parents help with a mallet to break it up. The mom cringed with the mess of the soggy clay that got all over everything. The smaller version of the Dig it Up eggs are much more manageable.

Great Gift
We bought this as a birthday gift for our grandson. His older brother got one two years ago and like ved it, so the younger wanted the same experience. Ordering was easy and it shipped quickly.

Imagination!
My grandchildren were so excited by the egg. Their conversation around what would happen if there was a T Rex inside was priceless.

Lots of fun
Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my almost 4 year old grandson. It required working with an adult because of his age. It held his attention and by the end he knew about carnivores and herbivores. He could also tell you the names of all the dinosaurs. Highly recommend.

Questions & Answers 1 Question
What is the egg made of?

BEST ANSWER: The egg is made of some sort of dried earth which, when soaked in water for 5 minutes as the directions indicate, becomes a soft clay. Plastic chisels and plastic-headed hammer are included and are used to excavate the 7 plastic dinosaurs from the moistened clay. The origins of the earthen material and the type of earth are not provided nor are any instructions on how to dispose of that earthen material. The packaging indicates “Made in China” and lists a company address in the US mid-west.
