terrific

I'm a grandma, who bought this as a gift for my grandson. This product was supposed to be for kids slightly older than my grandson--who's in second grade--but he's particularly fascinated with putting things together and has an engineering kind of mine. It was the best present I could have given him. He opened it and couldn't put it down...and days later is still finding multiple ways to use it, learn from it. I know how kids today like their 'screen' activities--but this engages his mind.

Does this work without an iPod?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it can be operated without one and any audio device with an auxiliary port can be used to play sounds through the speaker piece.
