Product Details

Friends and Neighbors is a matching game that focuses on emotions. Can players help a little girl who's sad because she's standing out in the rain or a boy who's afraid of the dark? Reach into the Helping Bag and Pull out a token - can it help someone on the game board? If so, it's a match! In playing the game and reading about the feelings and needs of the characters, parents can help their children recognize feelings in others - the first step to building empathy. INCLUDES: 4 game boards, 14 tokens, 1 helping bag, 1 stop sign board, social and emotional intelligence parent guide and friends and neighbors story book.

nothing special
i didnt think that it was much of a game. if a parent or other adult (teacher for example) guided the child it could be made more into a discussion which can be helpful for kids who.need help feeling empathy. otherwise it was just a simple matching game. the solutions to the problems or scenarios thqt came up in the game were very one dimensional. it would have been better had they been left open ended somehow and the child could talk about what might work to help the character

Love how it's helping them be successful & building up their self esteem.
The kiddos love playing this because it's easy & they can do it without my help. I'm hearing a lot of conversations as they play, which is good for their self esteem.

Love this!
I play this game with small groups of students in an educational setting, and we all love it! I love opportunities to ask, "what's does this neighbor need?" and "why does s/he need it?" I also love that we can enjoy helping others and working together to do it.
