Doesn't come with film
My sons haven't started this one yet because the film didn't come with it. A real disappointment. They jumped right into working on the other one they received and completed it within a few days.

Gearjits, a 10th birthday hit
We got these kits for Gearjits projector and clock for our grandson's 10th birthday. He' lives in California and we live in Georgia so we were on the phone together when he opened the package. He, his 12 year old older brother, and mother were thrilled to receive the construction models. He hasn't begun to make them yet, but he's very enthusiastic to do so.

Pieces aren’t strong enough to build!!!
The wooden pieces broke trying to put the object together - same with the clock !!!! It could be educational if the materials were sturdier!!!!

Totally loved geeking out on it!
I loved throwing myself into this. I rarely get the chance to do puzzles like this anymore after becoming a mom and this was exactly what I needed. It took me most of the day (took it slowly) and was super careful (as the pieces are a little fragile)… when it was done I was so excited and so was my son when he saw what it did. Now we look forward to putting the globe together.

Great for 12-yr old who loves to build!
My 12-yr old loved it! It took him a full day on Christmas to put together. He says it’s a fun building set and satisfying to finish, but the difficulty level is definitely for older kids who like to sit and build for long stretches. We also got the train, which was cool.

Good idea, good quality manufacturing but poorly made guide. It should be more detailed, more colored layers better drawings for each separate transmission. Should be samples for gear transmission calculations.

Not Fit for Construction
The small gears and parts broke trying to align them. Our granddaughter loves her KiwiCrate each month and saw this in the MindWare catalog requesting it for Christmas. She got frustrated, her Dad tried to aASIST to no avail and I am highly disappointed. A let down rather than heightened expectations we had.

Gearjits projector - fun to build and beautiful to display!
I love ordering from Mindware because of the quality of the products, the type of toys, and the dependability. We LOVED building the Gearjits Projector! The instructions were very clear (got a little confused on the last step), it's solidly built, it's amazing that it is a working projector and shows a Charlie Chaplin scene! And, building it helped us understand and appreciate the ingenuity of the original inventors of the projector. It's beautifully designed! Highly recommend.

Gearjits are great, but skip this one
We have built several Gearjits projects (marble coaster, clock) that were great, but the projector was disappointing. There were several parts that were flimsy and broke when having to attach them to multiple points on the projector. It's very difficult to tell if you have the lens facing the right direction and you won't really know if it's right until the model is done, at which point you can't dis-assemble it to fix it because of the flimsy parts.

Don’t buy
My mom bought this for my son for Hanukkah and we were super excited about it but oh was it a fail. He tried many times and so did I, but we couldn’t put it together. It just falls apart as you’re building it and the pieces aren’t strong. Very upsetting. Would not recommend.

This 3-D Puzzle is a winner!
There’s some difficulty in piecing it together when you’re working by yourself. But it’s so much fun! This puzzle is a real winner. Clear instructions for the most part. It seems like a great project for a parent and child to build together. Note: I found needle nose pliers to be helpful for fitting a couple of the smaller pieces together. I’m 45 and am really enjoying it. I’m almost finished...Looking forward to watching the movie!
