Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile The grandsons have the marble roller set and requested this elevator. They had fun taking it into the bathtub and getting water to run down the little chutes and push some marbles as well as the usual way to make it work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Add-on that definitely adds to the fun! We have loved our Marble Run for some time and the elevator definitely extended the fun. The elevator needed parent assistance to be assembled and it did take me a few attempts to get right. Once it was running both my 10 and (triplet) 6 year olds were engaged for even longer than usual. Normally, they build their own runs and I was reluctant to take over but adjusting the run height/elevator chain and making sure the lifts are in the right position took my intervention. After that the elevator is easy to turn on and the boys loved the automation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Go watch the YouTube video to see how it needs to be set up. When I was researching this product, I read the other reviews and saw the mention of the YouTube video. It was created by Mindware to show how the elevator needs to be set up to be able to work correctly. The video is extremely helpful, especially since the directions in the box do not do a very good job explaining the way the links or marble seats need to be facing. **Chain hooks and marble seats need to be facing UP on the RIGHT side.** I feel like this is a vital detail in the operation of this add on and should be in the written instructions. The quick pictures in the video are much easier to understand than the picture in the paper instructions included with the kit. I also think it should be noted to remove or add links to get your elevator to the correct height for your marble run design. I will agree with other reviews that it was frustrating getting it up and running. I think a few details added to the instruction sheet would make the overall experience much better. Overall my kids have enjoyed this product and the novelty of the elevator made them very excited. Once it gets set up, it gave them hours of fun.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good add on, but not necessary We got the marble run elevator to go along with our marble run package. I thought this would be a great way to add another feature to make it look "cooler" to the boys. Right away, the boys lost interest since there was so much to do with the marble run pieces already. this is probably an add on I would have purchased later or for older kids who are interested in putting these things together. My boys were happy with just the regular box of 103 pieces to put together their contraptions. I tried to help put it all together, but even with the limited instructions in the box, it wasn't very easy to manage and figure out how to attach to the build without it tipping over. This could be user error on my part, but this piece is tucked away since the boys didn't really care for making it motarized to bring the marbles up to the top.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well other than a few glitches. I assembled the elevator today, so I've used it only a short period of time. When it works, it works just fine. The only glitch is it got hung up two different times and stopped altogether. I believe it was hung up on one of the marble scoops in the top part where the marble is dropped off. Also, instructions were non-existent. Thanks to another post I used the instructions on YouTube. I suggest including paper instructions, as well as the link to YouTube.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs better instructions At first I was going to give this a 1 star review. It was so frustrating to try to put together, the instructions were almost non-existent, and there was nothing but a tiny black and white picture of what it was supposed to look like. I eventually figured it out though and now it works and we like it. It was one link too long, so once I removed one link it had the correct tension. There should be 14 links between each lift to make it even. If the lifts are tilting down and dropping pieces then they need to go on the other direction.
