Multi-deminsional teaching tool.
I use this in creative problem solving classes that I teach in grades K-8. The forty challenge cards range from basic to complex that bring smiles of success in the early grades. We also do timed challenges to see who can assemble the blocks in the tray the quickest. And the open-ended play allows for building structures of their own design. Storing all the blocks in the tray really helps in cleanup.

Not enough cards/challenges
The size of the pieces of this pattern puzzle game are large and the cards included contain some patterns that are easy for younger children to complete. I was disappointed that there weren't more higher level challenges - so that the game could be played by students of multiple abilities. That being said, my 4th and 5th grade students enjoyed building with the cards available - they just ran out of challenges.

Encourages creative thinking
This was a gift for my 5 year old daughter and she has been enthralled by building the patterns on the cards. A few she has needed help with to decipher the building structure steps and also to help hold it stable while placing blocks in place. My 7 year old son also has been playing with it (when his sister lets him!) and both have been experimenting with creating their own structures. High quality materials, very nice packaging and wooden tray to hold all blocks when finished.

Inconsistently made
My daughter likes playing with this and creating the designs/ puzzles listed on the card. However, the first set we received had one piece that was built a little too thick to fit properly with other pieces. Mindware was great and immediately sent a replacement. However, the replacement set also had a piece ( but not the same shape as before) that once again was too thick to easily fit with the other pieces. This puzzle game is a great idea, but the pieces are inconsistently made.

Interactive and creative activities
I ordered the Pattern Play 3D as a follow up experience with 3rd and 6th grade home schooled students. The students were highly interactive and used their imaginations not only to create the examples provided on the cards, but create their own architectural designs. I am pleased they used some new geometric and science vocabulary terms we had recently introduced in class.
