From all reports my 5-year old grandson loves his pattern play.

I bought this for my 4yo son, who loved it then and loved it now - 2 years later! He is so proud after successfully copying one of the pattern cards, and enjoys creating his own patterns as well. Truly a fundamental toy, encouraging creativity, geometric concepts, and following directions. Worth every penny! By the way, I read some complaints addressing the fact that there is about 1/8 inch of space around the blocks when all fit into the base. If this weren't so, the pieces would be difficult for a child to maneuver and remove, imo.

It's a great toy for kids to grow with. Last year, my two year-old simply stacked the multi-colored blocks and learned to match colors. 6 months later she was building little rainbow neighborhoods. Now she places the blocks in the frame, though she does not yet have the attention span to replicate the patterns. She's learning how to fit the blocks together to make different shapes. When she loses interest, I take over and complete the pattern cards. Great for kids of all ages!

The puzzle that never gets old. I bought this for my five year old. She plays with it often and so do the other kids, even the teens and adults. The frame is a bit loose, and it smelled rather bad when it was new. Still a truely great toy.

We love these pattern games, especially the symmetrical, and this is opening my special needs child up to non-symmetrical patterns. I thought it would be repetitive but there are a lot of patterns and he loves doing them multiple times.

The almost 4 year old loved making the patterns and the 2-1/2 year old loved the bright colors and stole the blocks to stack in piles.

This was the third set of Pattern Play blocks I've bought. The pattern cards provide a guide for patterns which are satisfying to the builder, especially with the addition of adult direction. Then when patterns are finished and the child is tired of concentrating on following the directions, the colorful blocks offer endless opportunities for spontaneous creative play.

I got this for my son who has a processing deficiency. He doesn't have the capability to copy the small patterns into the larger frame, so I scanned and printed them larger to put the pattern in the frame under where you build the pattern. Now all he has to do is put the blocks in the correct position to complete the pattern. We will work our way up to copying patterns from the smaller cards provided. My only suggestion would be to possibly make the frame a bit tighter, as the blocks seem to slide around while trying to place them in position. It's a great mind work out for my son, I am happy with the purchase.

absolutely beautiful project to work on when one is bored! our entire family enjoys this work. we display it on our coffee table in the family room!
