As I had noticed earlier in the year that our 3 and 1/2 year old granddaughter's spatial and pattern matching skills were not too well developed, I got her this present for Christmas. She needed quite a bit of help to get started. However, I can see that this will be a valuable learning tool for her for several years.

I wasn't sure how it would be received by my 3 1/2 yr old grandson, but he enjoyed the puzzles and asked to go back to ones that we had previously done. He became more proficient at positioning the blocks as time went on. He is not able to read the pattern cards yet, but he recognizes them, if he has worked on it. Of course, the interaction with an adult was also rewarding for him, I think.

I use this in a mental health practice. All ages enjoy talking and devising new patterns......one of thier favorite toys!
