The 2 types of decorating tips and 6 recipe cards give kids the creative tools to test different combinations and designs for their cakes, all while exercising fine motor skills and concentration. She does love it!
My daughter loves this set. She made a layer cake the first night that turned out really well. I appreciate the recipes are included because the small size of the pans would mean cutting down any other recipe, which could be tricky. The amount of frosting the recipe made was perfect as well. They were easy and delicious: 1st try success! The negatives: one pan's spring is messed up so it doesn't open smoothly. Also, the frosting calls for 1/8t of vanilla, but doesn't include a 1/8t spoon.

A lot of missing steps - still fun!
This is quite sweet. However, when we went to use it & follow instructions - steps were missing in the recipes and for the decorating piece. I've made many scratch cakes - so, I was able to figure that part out. For the decorating - I was unclear what to do after the crumb coating. The bag was difficult to figure out (we trimmed the tip off the bag to make it work) Prior to using bag - assumed to cover the crumb coat (which still showed crumbs) -- and THEN to use the bag to create flowers etc?

Baking fun with granddaughter
The products were good quality, except the measuring utensils were poorly labeled. It is impossible to read the size of the measuring tools. Some instructions were confusing to my granddaughter. But we are looking forward to baking more cakes.

The large decorating tips do not fit correctly in the piping bag. Should we cut the piping bag so that it fits? Should the threads of the frosting tip be inside the bag or outside the bag?
