My granddaughter loves learning how to make pottery,this wheel works very well and with some supervision is fairly easy . I'm very satisfied with this purchase and look forward to future master pieces! Great for kids who have "busy hands". Thanks Mindware !

Okay for beginners
The spinning wheel barely has enough torque for mid to large projects. Child will outgrow it fast.

Blast for the kids!

Don’t buy the Pottery Wheel - Find something else!
Ordering from MindWare is great, but the Pottery wheel is awful. Do not purchase. However, find something else from MindWare - their customer service is great!

My granddaughters enjoyed it
My two granddaughters age 7 and 11 enjoyed making to punch the very first time we tried it one of them had a little trouble and had to Gobble up her clay and start again which worked out fine her second part was fine
Grandma didn’t have as much luck but they are more artistically inclined than I am
I was afraid it was not going to be strong enough to do what we wanted to do but it turned out great

Great gift for 7 year old girl
My daughter received this gift for Christmas. While I suspect it’s not terribly durable, for around eighty dollars, it’s well worth the price. It worked well out of the box, she was able to make things with it immediately - took a bit of me reading instructions while she did it, since she had to use both hands on the wheel - and she was very happy with the way her creations turned out. It is crazy messy, but that’s a given when you’re using a pottery wheel! I actually tried it myself, and it really is fun to use!

A Pottery Wheel that Works!
Bought this for my twin grandkids. They LOVE it. They are 8 years old and could manage the wheel nicely. It took a bit of trial and error in shaping and object, but they got the hang of it. Both enjoy this tremendously!

get what you pay for: cute, but weak
I guess u get what you pay for:
This unit is incredibly weak, and tool rest is clumsy. I'd much rather pay more for a more powerful motor that could actually center clay as opposed to just using it as a banding wheel for painting or trim. If ots for banding/painting, all good.
