Not a total success
I received this kit as a member of the Stellar Panel. My 9 year old son was excited to try it out. No crystals grew on the first hedgehog and the back that was supposed to grow crystals started disintegrating. We did leave it in extra days to try to give it more time to work. We had to toss that one and try with the second hedgehog. This one worked but the crystal growth wasn’t as nice as the box showed. We ended up with one successful crystal hedgehog. I’ll look into buying another kit later.

Great kit!
This kit works GREAT. However, it was a bit tricky, the double stick tape doesnt work great, so I had to position the hedgehog by hand (wear a glove!). The plastic part floats, so you gotta get it set so the plaster piece weighs it down.
Another tip, let it sit 48 hours after you remove the lid. Crystals grew bigger in that extra 24 hours!

Nice Crystals, Not on the Hedgehog
My daughters (2, 4, 9) and I were so excited to try these. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. My eldest helped with set-up, pouring the powder, and stirring. I handled the boiling water and placement. We had trouble getting the plaster dome to stick to the hedgehog body. You can only make one hedgehog at a time and the process takes 48 hours, so be prepared to make siblings wait. Crystals grew on the dish, not hedgehog. I received this toy from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
