My daughter was so excited to make crystals. We followed the instructions exactly as directed and crystals formed at the bottom of the container, not on the hedgehog. I contacted the company and asked for a refund, which they did.

We are so sorry you had a poor experience. We have found the most successful crystal growing happens when you use boiling water and make sure the container is filled to within 1/2" of the top. It may also help to set a timer for 2 minutes to ensure that you stir long enough for the powder to dissolve. I bought this for my 6 yo daughter for Christmas, she was very excited, however, though we followed all the instructions the crystals did not grow on the hedgehog but only on the bottom of the container so it was a disappointment. We have not tried hedgehog #2...

We are so disappointed with this product. My daughter received this as a gift from her grandparents for Christmas. I assisted and followed all of the directions. The crystals did not form on the hedgehog at all and only formed in the container surrounding the hedgehog. Total waste of time and money. Do not buy.

Does not work
As other reviews say these do not work. Used boiled water as per directions- stirred forever and still the powder doesn’t disintegrate. The crystals form on bottom of container. I gave it 2 stars only for the fact the hedgehog is cute. Save your money we just threw this in the garbage.

Crystal Hedgehog success!
I was really hesitant to purchase these Crystal Hedgehogs after reading all the negative reviews, but my 5 year old had his heart set on them for Christmas. We had 100% success with our red and orange ones, and my son was thrilled. He would love to do it again.
