Box with different machines was a real attraction to my grandson at age 9.
Usually I do not get to see my grandson working on one of the build-it-yourself gadgets I buy each year. He opens the box, hits an early barrier and hands it off to Mom to put it together. This year he opened the box and looked at all the different machines, picked one and started to construct it himself and kept working until he got the machine built. Seems like he finally got to the point of wanting to do it himself and understanding you may need to read instructions carefully and more than once. I enjoyed his success and interest.

I bought this for my 16 yr old to help get him away from his phone and videos. He put it together in just a couple of days. He is very smart, so I underestimated his skill! App required, not screen free.
This is a horrible product. Lego Technic is far superior. I wanted a screen free project, and this requires an app for all assembly instructions!! And even then the instructions were poor and did not perform as intended. I'm sad to say this is going straight in the recycling bin.

Great, except pieces difficult to get apart.
My grandson loved that he could build a few different cool things with this kit. Sadly, the pieces are VERY difficult to get apart, to the point where he became frustrated with it, and many times had to ask his father to get the pieces apart for him (I couldn't even get them apart!). Maybe they will loosen up with use. He was able to follow the instruction book, even though it was pictures and no words.
