This book is a whole lifestyle
Like the back cover says, the activities in this book cover the gamut from indoors to outdoors, online and offline. There are simple activities that don't require special gear, and there are complicated craft and maker projects. But what I admire about the book, what makes it something worth keeping on the coffeetable for years, is all the other stuff -- Q&As with interesting creative types, excerpts from classic kids' books, how-to features about activism, puberty, ADD, bullying, becoming more independent, and so much more. We'll look back at this book in the future as a landmark of the 2010s.

You need this book!
I am a parent and school librarian, and I have a well worn copy of this book both at home and at school. At first glance, this book will seem too wordy and difficult for kids. It is true that the text can be a bit dense. Confident readers age 10 and up are probably the ideal audience. However, adults and younger kids could dig into this book together and have all kinds of great adventures. The book is packed with humor and creativity, and the illustrations and overall design are a visual treat. It will keep the whole family entertained for years. Yes, years! I would recommend this book as a gift for any family.

I was disappointed with this book. I was hoping it would have more ways of having fun. I sent the book back.
