Not compatible with older versions/new version cuts corners
We have an original wonderhood set (2017) that we wanted to expand, but these aren’t compatible. They’ve reduced the thickness of the tiles so the older connectors won’t work. In addition, by reducing the thickness of the tiles, the stability of any structure you make is greatly reduced — and it makes putting these things together quite a precision challenge for even adults, let alone kids, let alone five-year-olds.
Original sets not perfect, but much better. These you’ll use once and toss.

Cool idea; not made well
Looked amazing in the box. But sadly, once built, the structure isn’t quite sturdy enough to actually get to play on it with the mini figures. Slight bumps make the whole thing fall apart. Clip system needs improvement.

This product doesn’t hold together. The cardboard pieces won’t stay in the plastic connectors. The elevator is too heavy to attach to the rest of it without falling over.

Good for 8+
My kids didn’t start to gravitate toward these until they got a little older… at 8 & 9 they come out very often! I think they were a bit frustrating when they were 5,6ish. Now, that they’ve gotten the hang of them they have so much fun with them. They can be a little tough for littler hands, but they still enjoyed them— just not as much as now!

Great idea, needs better connectors
Our son is obsessed with hotels, and at first he really loved this set--but it is so tricky to get the pieces to stick together and line up so that the whole thing doesn't fall apart, that he ended up frustrated and hasn't pulled it out to play with again. I think it's a fantastic idea, but you need better clips that hold it together more securely and don't require perfect alignment.

Structure falls apart
Poor quality. Nice concept, but the pieces don't really stay together well at all. Any attempt to use the elevator means the whole structure falls apart. My daughter was pretty frustrated and I was too.

The panels for this toy are pretty flimsy. My daughter is six and was able to get some in place, but then you can’t move the structure or bump it because it falls to pieces. I helped her, but found it awkward to build with.
It’s a cute idea, but might be better with sturdier panels.

Creative building set with some flaws.
The Wonderhood Grand Hotel is a neat toy. It allows kids to invent their own building over and over with different outcomes. However, I was a little disappointed that this set did not come with stairs. The other Wonderhood Grand Hotel from the original company does have stairs. The connectors are also different, but I think these better are better. The tower is a little flimsy and the clock rotates with the elevator. The clock is not in the correct position when the elevator is up.
