Not as fun as it looks
This type of activity made quite a mess! The grandgirls were excited at first to "dig" for their fairies, but after the required soak & picking, soggy pieces & crumbs of the encasement were all over. The youngest (5yrs) lost interest, the oldest stuck it out until hers was revealed. Their mom packed up the kit to take home w them. Amusingly, there were tell-tale blue fragments in the driveway.

Fairies
The recommended soaking time was not nearly enough. I ended up soaking the egg each time 3 to 4 hours-- my granddaughter still needed help. The clay was hard as a rock. On the plus side, she does enjoy playing with the fairies.

Great for motor skills
My 4-year-old daughter got this for Christmas and loves them! She enjoyed digging them and would always get surprised when one started to peak. She even asked her brothers to help her and they did some together. So much fun for the family. The fairies are now part of her playtime.

Our 4 year old granddaughter had so much fun digging out her fairies! It took time ( which was nice sometimes u buy something and less that 5 minutes your done ) and they have 12 eggs . If you soak them for 10 minutes they easily break . We set her up with a big box that was easier for her to dig ( kept everything inside box) entertained her all weekend and she still has 6 to go .Great gift !!

We recieved these a couple years ago as a gift and are now giving them as gifts to others. I love that there are 12 so the activities spread out over time instead of doing a "one and done" situation.
