Bought as activity for visiting family: one grandpa, two dads, three 'helpers' age 6 and 9. Good for 9 yr with Grandpa. Each dad had a six year old helper who's attention span wasn't long enough for the whole build project. Didn't think ahead to allow 12 hours of glue drying time prior to 'battles'. Catapult by far was the easiest to hit plank built targets. We also purchased extra planks.

We purchased the trio of siege engines for an 8 year old boy (and as it turned out-his mom, uncle etc. etc.) It was a perfect choice. The boy felt that the ball could have been heavier so it could go further and knock down bigger things. The family, on the other hand , considered the weight and trajectory to be just fine. Thanks Mindware for a well thought out quality learning experience, which happens to be a lot of fun. As a bonus we feel he might be getting the hang of reading and following instructions!

My nine year old son has had a great time building these kits. We bought all three--wrecking ball, trebuchet, and catapult. He and my husband have been building them together, and he has declared them "most awesome." He was disappointed to know that there were not any others to add to his collection!

Our grandson loves his wrecking ball. He and his dad have had fun playing with it for hours and hours.

When I realized these projects were glued together I worried that they wouldn't work out very well, but the glue worked AMAZINGLY well, and the plans were easy to follow and put together as a team. My girls (5 and 8) and I put together the trebuchet and played with it for hours!

Gave to my 5 yr old granddaughter at parent's request. She loves these types of building toys and learns at the same time.

My grandson was thrilled with this gift. I can't wait to go visit and see how he and his dad did putting them together.
