In some ways, it is one step up from the Perplexor book which we also have. I do this with my son who is entering Kindergarten (but he is a bit advanced thanks to his brother who is going into 2nd grade) so I think this is great logic building practice. It is necessary to help read this to my son but he fills in the grids all by himself. For my older son, it is also good additional reading practice.

I think these are great. If I catch him in the right mood, my six-and-a-half year old agrees. As a first grader, his homework is often pretty redundant; his teacher has agreed that we can sometimes substitute a Perplexor in place of the assignment. We also take these when we travel, as a substitute assignment. We use an overhead sheet with a dry erase marker over the page, so each page can be used again.
