Very poor instructions
The rubber washers are way too big, the directions are not clear and the whole thing is not working. My 9 year old is very disappointed and wants to return this for something else- what a wasted Christmas

Frustrating product
The rubber washers do not hold anything in place. They are too big for the bamboo shafts and fall off every time you fire the catapult. It's frustrating to have to fix it every time you fire.

Good design but some poor quality components
The design is fun to build, with my seven year old being able to do most of it. However, the rubber washers are the wrong size so they do not stay on the bamboo shafts, needing to be repositioned after each use. More seriously the medium bamboo shaft holding the sling arm broke after only 20 uses. As my son said, "on the first day". Real shame, my son was very excited by this.

Need sturdier quality
My middle school students enjoying assembling the catapults. The visual instructions were easy to follow. Many students ran out of the supplied wood glue, and continued with other glue including glue guns. Unfortunately the catapults did not hold through our continuous launching of the bean bags as we collected data. We had to 'reglue' several parts several times. The design also did not allow switching out rubber bands to test different strengths.

Super fun for patient builders
My daughter LOVES this! It comes with a blueprint step by step instructions and she loved feeling like a "real engineer" fitting all of the pieces together. She didn't even mind waiting 24-hours for the glue to properly dry. Once she actually got to catapult things, she learned how to change the angle and trajectory using extra wooden blocks. The kit comes with a target and mini-bean bags to launch at the target. Lots of fun! The catapult launches the bean bags around eight feet max and it's not high-powered, so if someone is in the way there's no risk of injury.

This was challenging, but fun to build.
This was for a nephew that is 7 years old. While I enjoyed helping him build it, I'm not totally sure he could have done it alone. I am also not sure how well it worked after the 24 hours it had to set before actually operating it. The overall concept of building it was a good experience for both of us.
