Missing parts in several boxes
We purchased over 20 kits for a tinkering program at school. Several kits were missing parts, which reduced the overall number of trebuchets we could actually build. Otherwise, a great product with easy steps and sturdy materials.

Great instructions, good exercise in precision
I worked on this with my 10 year old twins.
Gluing the pieces together needs to be VERY PRECISE, otherwise, your trebuchet won't fit together right. This was written in a small area of the instructions, but almost got lost with all the text around it. Being this precise was a challenge even for my 10-year olds.
A bottle of wood glue is included in the package, however, the bottle is made of very hard plastic. I had a difficult time squeezing glue out of the bottle, and because I had to use so much force to squeeze the glue, I wasn't able to place a precise amount on the planks. It came out in big clumps. My kids, who don't have the finger strength that I do, were unable to squeeze the glue bottle at all.
I'm glad I was there to help them squeeze the glue bottle, check their work and remind them to be very precise in glueing things together. The glue is good, so you want to make sure you've glued the pieces together correctly before it dries!
I also found there wasn't enough glue included. We were unable to assemble the Trebuchet completely because we ran out of glue, and I haven't had an opportunity to buy a new bottle of wood glue at a hardware store.
The instructions were very clear & easy to follow. We've assembled all the pieces, so I think the structure will come together very easily once we have new glue. We are looking forward to experimenting with our new trebuchet when it's all glued together!

Good project that is fun to play with and educational.
I ordered this for my 13 year old son. He had it assembled in less than an hour. He and his younger sister played with it for hours and keep going back to it several days later. Great value and they both learned a lot playing with it.

Hardest part: Waiting for glue to dry!
Really, this kit is well planned and well designed. The literal hardest part for my 7-year-old son was waiting for the glue to dry. "Medieval Max" was ready to try out his siege machine. He tested the accuracy and observed acceleration and force over distance with the targets included. Learned about geometry, curves, and trajectory while attempting to recreate the actual physics of one his favorite games. We received this product in exchange for a fair review. I (we) recommend this product (and a supply of ping pong balls for inside)! Overall: Great blend of history, engineering, and fun.
