Great idea, but it leaks
This is a great idea and we had fun making it, but it makes a mess. The salt water leaks out even when the lid is on as tight as I can get it. Also, you have to open up the ice cream compartment half way through to stir. At this point, it's a slurry mess that gets everywhere. You also have to open to add toppings near the end. Finally, we can't figure out a good way to get the ice cream off the bottom of the compartment short of filling the ice compartment with warm water (more mess). The ice cream itself was pretty good and our 4 year old had fun for the whole 20 minutes roll time (all 3 times we've used it). He enjoyed picking a topping to put in. We'll be putting this away until it's warm enough to use outside.

Shake it up, baby!
I've always wanted one of these! Easy, active, fun and you get a treat at the end! The recipe book is very helpful. I prefer my treats a little slimmer so I used skim milk with the half and half but I don't mind the iciness vs the creaminess of full-fat milk products. Full disclosure, I swapped out some of that for Bailey's! Yummy, adult ice cream!

I ordered two different sizes. Loved that they are colorful and that the cover is soft and washable. Easy to follow recipes and a variety. Loved that the whole family can participate and in no time, you have this wonderful ice cream. Going to order another one.

. Unfortunately it leaked when we shook it. Also, difficult to know when ice cream is actually done. Had to keep opening it up to check and then it was difficult to get the seal again.
The ice cream itself was tasty.

Making icecream is hard work
Overall I liked the product. The icecream was really delicious. My issues were 1. It actually took more than 20 minutes to make icecream. 2. It was difficult to open to mix the icecream at the 10 minute mark. 3. The children did not want to work that hard. You have to put some real force behind moving the ball.

Leaks, very hard to open
I like this product but don’t love it mainly because it is very difficult to twist open the latches for fear of breaking off the plastic tab portion. It leaks if the latches are not screwed on tight. If you screw the latches on tight, it’s impossible for 1 person to open. My BIL has to hold the latch while I provided stability and counter twisting to the rest of the ball in order to get it open and you have to open and close both sides at least twice to make 1 batch of ice cream. It’s only good for rolling and it very heavy once filled. It is very easy to clean.

Ice cream Fun
I saw this and had to have it for my ice cream loving granddaughter. It was a huge hit! We took turns rolling the ball on the floor, and before you knew it, the ice cream was done! We followed the recipe included for vanilla and it was really good. As a teacher I loved Mindware products. I still do. Fun with a purpose! Recommend!

I wanted to find a birthday gift for my 9 yr old granddaughter that was fun and age appropriate… the one-pint ice cream maker was perfect! She made ice cream within a day of receiving the gift and enjoyed rolling it back and forth with her sister. The ice cream was delicious and the recipe book had some great recipes in it!

Fun Gift for Ice cream Lovers!
