Don't put outside
I bought this in March of 2022, my child painted it and we placed it in our garden. By December it had broken into pieces and was disintegrating. Definitely wasn't made to last outside.

As soon as Papa delivered it she went right to work! My granddaughter age 13 did her own design using the colors black, brown, and white. It turned out beautiful! Her brother age six said he wants the butterfly stepping stone! It is on the way!

Super cute, but not for cold weather
We got this as a replacement for our hedgehog. We’ve had several of these items in the past. Please note if you live in a northern climate (we are in Michigan) they cannot stay out during the winter months (our bad) as they will crack. Second, we also had the Paint your own stepping stones. They broke when my son (at the time 6 and average height and slim build) jumped on the step.

A bit too difficult
My granddaughter asked for this kit for Christmas. It was more difficult than either of us expected and some of the paints were too thin. It was recommended for 8+ and may be more appropriate for 10+ All-in-all, it is good quality and we like the finished product-she was just unable to complete on her own.

  • BEST ANSWER: We recommend using weather-proof paint if displaying outside. Although it might be slightly water-resistant, acrylic paint will not hold up long outside. Email us at [email protected] and we can help provide additional paint to finish your project.

What temperature and for how long do you bake in the oven?

  • BEST ANSWER: Bake the stone in the oven for 30 minutes at 225° F on a baking sheet. After 30 minutes, turn the oven off. The stone will be very hot so allow the stone time to cool in the oven prior to removal.
