Lots of fun
Lots of fun with my 8 year old grandson. Not really gross but we are going through the booklet to do each little project. Easy to use. Doesn’t require the child to be a geek (or an egghead)!

My son wants to do this everyday!
My son loves this! He asks to do this everyday! But, I would be sure, as a parent, to not let your kid loose and just figure it out on their own. The directions are detailed in the sense of needing to pre-mix some items before including them in the ingredients, and some children, have the tendency to not read instructions carefully before diving in (at least my kids tend to...). I feel like this is a great stepping stone to chemistry basics--the way chemicals change and have reactions, but also the mixing thus sparking an interest in science. And the bonus: you can use the things you make to clean up (soap!).

Gross Fun
My 9 year old daughter wants to be a midwife when she grows up and was so excited to do gross body things. She was disappointed that it wasn't gross enough, but everyone else (12 year old brother, 6 year old sister, 2 year old brother, mom, and dad) thought it was the perfect amount of ick. After her initial disappointment, she had a lot of fun with all the experiments, as we all did. The instructions were easy enough that the kids could have done it without help (but dad and I weren't about to miss out on the fun!).
