A Disappointment
Shortly after filling the plastic tub with hot water i realized there was a small hole in it and water pouring out the bottom. We replaced it with an aluminum pan and carried on. Volcano was pretty underwhelming but most disappointing was that a couple of pieces broke when excavating them leading to a sad 6 yo

Bubbling volcano
My grandson loved digging for gems and fossils after the lava stopped flowing. Because the volcano is made of clay it was difficult to dig resulting in a broken tooth-fossil. That moment was full of disappointment. Otherwise, it was a big hit.

Fantastic activity! The two ways to engage in the volcano make this more than just entertaining. Mixing the ingredients make watching the explosion exciting and then the fun isn't over when the eruption has ended. The digging to find the stones and fossils was a great hands-on exercise.

How many times can you make the volcano erupt and excavate?

  • BEST ANSWER: There are enough chemicals to conduct a few volcanic eruptions. You can excavate the volcano once until all discoveries are found.
