read packaging carefully
I though my granddaughter would love this; I remember my sister's kids having a great time with a mic, recording and singing. When I ws ready towrope it, I read the info on the package. While ou can record, you are encouraged to buy a subscription to a service with more songs. Also, it connects to other things like Siri and is far more complicated to use than a simple mic and recorder.
