Product Details

This classic game has challenged and fascinated players of all ages ever since it was introduced in 1946. Just turn the knobs to balance the steel ball from start to finish; the closer you get to the goal, the more points you score. But be careful, or the ball may fall through a hole and send you back to the beginning. Develops motor skills, concentration, perception, reasoning and--most of all--patience!

Age Recommendation: Ages 6 and up

Warning: Choking Hazard

Great retro re-make!
I sent this as a Christmas gift to our 8-year-old grandson because I remembered how much our kids had had with the original version. It was a huge hit with him -- as well as his dad. Great (non-electronic!!) competition for them, as well as a personal coordination and concentration challenge.

This device is unfinished. In place of a painted line there should be a groove path that is shallow enough that it requires dexterity to maintain tracking, but not so deep that it makes it easy. A simple v-groove or a radius groove would elevate the rating to a '5'. I am inclined to modify the purchased items myself, I feel so very not satisfied with it. The second mod would be a small square or round vial with cap for storage of the ballscould be mounted underside to prevent being knocked off. OR a simple fabric pouch with drawstring mounted on the outside that plus the groove would elevate it to a '12'

Classic Game is a Winner
Labyrinth is a game that my husband and I both enjoyed as children. We've played it as a family with the kids and really had fun. As we didn't own our own game, we decided to get one for ourselves. This version of Labyrinth works fine, but has an unfinished surface and plastic knobs rather than wooden ones. I'm giving this a "4" rating because the manufacturer is clearly cutting costs and not making a game that is of the same quality as used to be made.

This game is very difficult
My 11-year-old found it very frustrating to use this maze. After many tries, he couldn't move the ball past 2 or 3 holes - and he had 45 more holes to finish. Can't understand how this maze has been so popular for almost 70 years.

a great classic
This is a blast from the past! I mastered this about 60 years ago and was delighted to see that it is still being made. I did not know that it is a Brio, a great company I got to know when I was buying train tracks for my son 25 years ago. I gave the Labyrinth to my granddaughter (age 9) for Christmas, and she and my son/her father were competing for time with it all day. Everything functioned perfectly.
