challenging keeps attention
purchased this for grand kids friends because my grandsons love them. Altho they play with legos a lot, these are demanding and challenging to build and teach balance and basic physics . The 7 year old boys all love them. Look so simple! can keep them interested for long time. They enjoy building together or home alone. Great gift Can add to sets, as I have done

Fabulous that allows for play of all types!
My children were both skeptical about the set, and only warmed up when I demonstrated a ball track. It was easy to create a simple ball track, which then drew everyone in. Since then, both kids have been experimenting with the planks for hours. Neighborhood kids were also drawn in and were quickly trying out ideas, testing them, and then re-designing their set. It does take patience and precision but the rewards are awesome. I highly recommend this set!

8 year old daughter loves them!
She's basically obsessed with them. I think we'll be getting an expansion pack soon.

Hands-down favorite construction toy
Do not hesitate to buy Keva planks! They are by far the favorite of all construction toys my two boys have tried. Their simplicity allows for unending creativity and problem solving. I am continually amazed at the variety of creations they make- from marble runs, pinball machines, towers, 2-dimensional pictures, corrals for toy animals, bridges, buildings, trains and train tracks, roads, etc. We have had ours for years and they are still in great shape and used often by both my 6 and 11 year old. The more planks the better, but if unsure, 200 is a good starter set. I prefer the heft and feel of the maple planks over the pine but still haven't decided if it is worth the difference in cost between the two or whether the weight difference affects stability. If money were no object, I would order only the maple, but so far am happy with the pine.

Keeps them busy
My granddaughter was thrilled and sat for close to 2 hours building different contraptions, her dog would come by with his big tail and knock it down but she would start over again. She's 11 and loves creating or solving puzzles. Great gift ~ thanx

Encourages focus, understanding of math concepts, and imagination.
Both my 11 year old grandson and my 9 year old granddaughter love working with Contraptions. Sometimes they create what is in the instruction book. Sometimes they create wonderful, imaginative constructions of their own.

Wonderful, open-ended toy that develops engineering and creativity.
This is a wonderful, open-ended toy. I gave it to my almost 5 year old grandson who was not quite sure what to do with it. Once his 8 year old brother and his dad began experimenting with the pieces and the balls, he easily caught on, creating his own contraptions. I think the ideas in the booklet will help his building and engineering continue to grow. So far, it has entertained him for long periods of creative time.

Hours of entertainment
We bought this a few years ago when my daughter was younger. She spent hours building the different towers and buildings. Her older brother even got into it! We recently purchased for another young lady and she loves it as well.

GRANDSON LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!
I got this for a birthday gift for my 7-year old grandson. Apparently he had played with this at a children's museum and knew exactly what it was. He is very interested in construction and uses other toys in ways not specified by the manufacturer. This one is great because it leaves so much room for creativity.

Very pleased
My 10 year old grandson loved this. He had played with it on previous time, and really wanted it. Very happy I got this for him.
