Color Blindness - Kind of a Problem. BUT. . . a work around.
Was introduced to Q by friends and loved it. But it's tough to win when you have to keep asking competitors the colors of your pieces (and GK's give no slack when they find a weakness). So . . Take the 'tough' colors (green, red, brown, violet for me), and put a different recognizable color dot on top of each of those colors. Voila! No compromise of the game - and much easier to keep the GK's humble! Enjoy!
Our family loves to play Qwirkle. My mom first introduced us to the game a couple years ago. I love the bonus pack with the trays. My daughter is 8 and loves to play with us. Having the tray makes it easier for her but also easier for us! Sometimes it can be difficult to see the color of the tiles but not with the tray! It angles the tiles just perfectly where you can shed natural light on the tile. This game is an absolute family favorite!

Get to know the game first
At first, the directions and examples were a bit confusing. Once you play a sample game, it started to make more sense. This game is a combination of Dominoes/Mexican Train and Scrabble. I would consider it for ages 12 and over. It's fun once you understand it.
