I purchased this as a fun educational toy for my children. However, they cannot use this to learn to recognize the shapes of states, as the puzzle has interlocking tabs that distort the shapes. Even after completion, because the tabbed sections are not colored to match the states they belong with, one cannot see the state shapes properly.

Great for Engaging Kids
My daughter is just shy of her fourth birthday and is in love with this puzzle. She takes it apart and redoes it three or four times in a row. Only complaint is that we haven't had it a month yet and the names of the states and the stars where the capitols are located are already peeling off. Soon we won't be able to see it at all. Even when it arrived, Virginia had all but one or two letters rubbed off.

USA Floor Map for little hands
I ordered this USA floor map for my young grandchildren from two different families [ages 3-5]. They love working puzzles and the pieces of this puzzle are large and easily handled by little ones. Since these families are on opposite sides of the country, it also helps them see that there are many states between where they live. Entertaining, educational and great quality.

This product was a big hit for Christmas
We bought this map for our 6 year old granddaughter who specifically asked for it for Christmas. I couldn't believe how excited she was when she unwrapped it and it was the first gift she opened to play with. My daughter and I sat on the floor with her as she put the map together telling us along the way where everyone lives. Many of her family and friends live across the country including her grandparents (us). Having a picture of something important to the particular state was very educational as well. Some pictures she already knew and others were a good learning experience. Highly recommended.

Great way to introduce the 50 states to a youngster!
The 3 year old loved putting it together and the 5 year old started asking the names and questions like why are some states so big or how far are they from us. The product is solid enough for kids to sit or kneel on it.

A huge hit
This was a gift for my 5 year old great niece. She LOVES it! So does her 1 year old brother when he can get his hands on a piece. She knew what it was and couldn't wait to put it together. I love that the pieces fit together and you can write on them with a Sharpie. it's a great puzzle that you can personalize with your family and friend's names and city locations.

Shapes
Thought the pieces were shaped like the states. Would not have bought it although fun it is too east.
