My grandson had a great time putting the train together over the course of a few days after Christmas. The gears don’t line up and the train doesn’t move. He chose this gift from the catalog since it would be a moving train. He was disappointed.

Awesome gift
We bought this train of our 13 year old daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loved it. It was just the right amount of challenge for her. As others have noted, sanding is required on the pieces but the finished product is well worth it.

Waste of money
I bought this for my son for Christmas. He had no problems putting it together but it does not fit tightly so the gears won’t line up properly and it will not actually run. He was really looking forward to this and is pretty disappointed now. Should have bought him more Legos! Don’t waste your money.

Locomotive issues
This kit is very educational for a young teenager to put together. I build this one for my great grandson who is only 7. Although these kits say no tools or glue, I found on my first kit, the Marble Coaster, did go together well. The train that I put together, had more parts that needed glue and the shaft for the spring mechanism had stripped threads so the key would not wind up the spring. I have glued so many parts that disassembly to replace any parts is impossible. A nice conversation piece

Challenging and Rewarding
This is a wonderfully made kit! The pieces are laser-cut with precision and are easy to locate and remove from the wooden templates. The directions are very well done and mostly easy to follow. I am working with my 8 year old grandson who has Leggo experience. I merely sit and interpet things sometimes. This is a challenging kit which will reward the builder. Great product.

Challenging GearJits Train
This was purchased as a gift for a gifted child who loved it. While he was midway through, he called to tell me how cool this was. It isn't always that you find a challenging project that delights the child. I thought it might and was thrilled that I was right.
