Ten grandchildren need ten (or more!) of these sets because they are a family favorite! My 3 oldest grands (2 boys, age 8, one girl, age 7) dug them out at Grandma Camp last summer and now I am reminded constantly by the next 3 girls, all age 4, that their turn is next! Four more boys follow them, so I better be ready! Total excitement and enjoyment as well as some scientific learning. The completed skeletons are on display in kids' rooms and we couldn't be happier!

My son loves Dino’s and had a great time. Was a little messy, but with newspaper coverage worked out well.

It was great fun. Grandson really enjoyed digging for the bones. We would trade off and help him. We all had fun chipping away. The plaster is poured in four different layers. So it is just like the layers you find in the earth. The bones look great and are sturdy.

Very messy, requires a lot of time and dedication, not for younger children.

My 6 year old loves this.. This is her second set.. i cant complain about this.

I got the 2 Big Dig Dinosaurs and the and 2 dinosaurs eggs for Christmas presents. I'm impressed with the size, large and heavy. I have to come up with similar presents for 4 great, grand children, ages 5-10. Can't show favorites! They will love these. I'm so happy.

We haven't given this to our great grandson yet, it is a Christmas gift. Just from reading and seeing how fun it will be, we give it a 10+++++ Can't wait to see his face. Our son loved digging the pieces out and putting this together on Christmas Day. If fact, he asked if T-Rex could have 2 little brothers--one triceratops and another T-Rex. The second two were just as fun to excavate & assemble :)

We got these Big Dig Dino models for our 7-year old son for Christmas. He and his 10-year old brother sat in the driveway for 2 hours on Christmas day digging up the dinosaurs. Per their words, "this is AWESOME!" The dinosaurs came in big blocks of clay and the boys used their digging tools (hammer, scraper, brush and sponge included) to uncover the dinosaur bones. Once they dug up the bones, they needed help constructing the dinosaur as the bones were a little hard to snap together but once done, my son had 2 good quality dinosaurs to play with. This was definitely a messy project with all the dust and clay pieces and should be best done outdoors or in a garage. To minimize the mess, you can wet the sponge to soften the clay which will lessen the amount of dust. They didn't use the sponge until the end of the dig as they wanted the full experience so there was more dust than was necessary but that was perfectly fine as they were really enjoying their dig. I feel the Dino Dig was age appropriate. Both my 7-year old and 10-year old loved the dig and neither of them had any problems with the tools or digging out the bones. We've never gotten anything like this before so I have nothing to compare it to, but I feel the quality of the product was great, from the clay block to the dinosaur inside. This was definitely one of my son's favorite gifts this year and we'll be looking for more "digs" to purchase in the future!

I bought 2 of these for my 6 and 8 year old grand kids. They both loved it. The six year old was obsessed with it. Would not stop until he was done. Now he wants another one.

My 8 year old grandson was familiar with this type set so was delighted to receive the two set. Great for teaching patience as well as fun digging, storing and assembling.

My son is 5 and dressed up as a paleontologist for Halloween. It's safe to say he lives and breathes dinosaurs and bones. When I saw this, I knew he would like it, but he didn't just like it, he absolutely loved it. "Dad! You have to come and see what I just uncovered!" was the frequent refrain coming from the kitchen during this project. He was so excited about digging up the triceratops that his enthusiasm rubbed off on his 3 year old sister - who could care less about dinosaurs. Pretty soon, she and our 1.5 year old were both on the table watching, screaming in joy as every new bone was uncovered. It took him about 3-4 hours (over 2 days) to get everything out, but as a family we thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks!
