This is the third Dino Dig for my 7 year old Grandson! He loves these things! He puts them in their rock garden and digs for bones!

High Quality Kit!
We are homschoolers, and used these kits as the centerpiece of a lesson about archaeology/paleontology. We LOVED it! It takes several hours to excavate all the pieces. The included tools are heavy, and high quality. The "bones" were obviously "buried" in layers of "rock" so that you can flake away each layer individually. The skeleton is disarticulated, just like a real dig site. The pieces need to be cleaned before being fitted together, but snap together - and stay together - rather well! We used a touch of oil to help the pieces snap together, as it's difficult to do! The finished dinos look great, and we are all thrilled with how much fun we had with these kits! My son in particular loved that he could bang away with the mallet and chisel - good for high energy kiddos that have trouble focusing! We will definitely come back for more...if we're not busy fossil hunting for real!

My son loves these dig sets. He did 2 smaller sets last year. He requested one for Christmas, so I got the bigger one. This really kept his attention. He worked on it for 3 days and then he got to put his skeleton together.

Our grandsons had a great time digging these bones out and assembling the skeleton. It promoted social fun which is needed by our children today.

I ordered this for my 8 year old great nephew. He said this was the best Christmas gift he got! He loved it so much that he spent all weekend working on it!

My six year old son enjoyed excavating the dinosaur replicas. My only complaint is that the models aren't very sturdy when assembled.

These kept my son busy for days, digging and scraping to find fossils, and he spent hours cleaning the fossils and assembling the dinosaurs. The only issue he had with them is that the 'chisel' included is (obviously made for kids) a little on the fragile side and if he would pry with it, the head would snap off. I just let him use a little flat head screw driver instead, problem solved. Great learning toy, very impressed.

Outstanding product but you have the age group incorrect. A bright 3-yr-old who is excited about dinosaurs can handle the activity just fine.
